called AWEW (adalyn’s world every week)

emails are sent out every single Sunday.

Human connection and maintaining lasting friendships are really important to me. This past August, I moved 3,000+ miles away from my best friends and family to pursue my master’s degree.

Every Sunday, I send out a letter filled with current events and silly stories, which has become a way for me to stay grounded while also observing the world through a more intentional lens rooted in storytelling, humor, and reflection.

In my new city, I have also been lucky to find friends who feel like home, reminding me that connection doesn’t end with distance. No matter where I end up next, I will always keep both old and new friends close especially in my email inbox!

College students are stressed about future plans. I took Buzzfeed quizzes to see what my future holds.
For week EIGHT, I wrote a long list of words that start with "E". Can you tell my favorite game is Scattegories?
I witnessed the NCAA 1500m record get broken in track and I wrote about it.
I wrote a newsletter called "Your Dream Wagon is Waiting For You In This Newsleter"; full of cartoon wagons and potential scenarios for readers to interact with.
I am chronically online. I document weekly social media observations.
I wrote down 13 podcast titles that summed up my last week.
Turning a typical girls’ trip into a horror movie headline.
In my opinion, the best entertainment is a little bit relatable and unhinged. I wrote out a long list of St. Patrick’s Day–themed text prompts to send to an ex-lover.
I collect my readers' opinions on current celebrity news, such as the controversy of Timothee Chalamet in 2026, and make it silly.
I decided that at least every month, I will take myself on a solo date/ creativity date (that isn't just doing homework at a coffee shop). This week, I went to a new restaurant by myself and doodled in my journal!

Not only do these newsletters help me practice telling compelling stories about even the most mundane days, they’ve also drawn me back to good old pen-and-paper doodling.
